Technical track (EMOD)

Topic: Overview of EMOD

• Install PyCharm, dtk-tools, and dtk-tools malaria (Obj 2b)
• Basic git
• Clone example exercises
• Learn development history of EMOD (Obj 2a)
• Learn each part of EMOD software ecosystem and how they interact (Obj 2a)
• Learn basic EMOD simulation workflow and run a barebones ExampleSim (Obj 2a, 2c)

Overview of EMOD

Installations of softwares for development and for EMOD

We will have a tutorial session to walk you through the installations of various softwares required for EMOD, as well as for the ease of developing your code.

• Understanding the basics of Git and cloning repository
• Installing Python, dtk-tools and dtk-tools-malaria
• Installing PyCharm Community Edition (This is an integrated development environment IDE specializes in Python. Very helpful for coding purpose, but you can choose other IDE, e.g., VS Code or Notepad++ if you want)
• Cloning of example exercises for this program
